The Neue Pinakothek shows the exhibition for four months “Science into Art” by artist George Stubbs (1724-1806), who was a master in the art of animal painting. The works are borrowed from England, there they are usually exhibited in well-known museums such as the Tate Britain or the National Gallery in London. The works show the entire art spectrum of the painter, drawings and etchings are also included. Stubbs mainly portrayed horses, many works were commissioned by nobles, that could be found in its symbiosis of science and aesthetics. Therefore, most of his pictures are also quite unknown, because they hang in private collections or castles and country houses of the old nobility.
