Der Lehrer Paul Maddens wurde von seiner Freundin Jennifer genau an den Festtagen verlassen. Seitdem ist er ein bekennender Weihnachtsmuffel und wünscht sich nichts sehnlicher, als dass diese verhassten Tage so schnell vorüberziehen mögen, wie nur möglich. Leider muss gerade er dieses Jahr das Krippenspiel an seiner Schule inszenieren. Seinem Erzrivalen Gordon Shakespeare, einem Lehrer an der Konkurrenzschule, erzählt er, dass seine Ex Jennifer die Premiere des Krippenspiels mit Hollywood-Agenten im Schlepptau besuchen würde. So erhofft er sich, den Wettkampf um die Zuschauer für seine Schule entscheiden zu können. Doch dies zieht ungeahnte Konsequenzen nach sich.

Nach dem Tode des alten Papstes tagt das Konklave im Vatikan, um einen neuen Hirten der katholischen Kirche zu bestimmen. Ein paar Stationen weiter wetteifern zwei junge Paare darum, wer das erste Baby des neuen Jahres gebärt…

Im Mittelpunkt stehen prämierte Designobjekte des iF design awards sowie die neue Wechselausstellung „The Line of Beauty – Die großen BMW Coupés und Cabrios (of 1937 to 2011)“. Darüber hinaus präsentiert iF in Kooperation mit dem BMW Museum die 100 mit GOLD ausgezeichneten Beiträge der diesjährigen iF design awards im Rahmen einer Sonderausstellung.
